School Spirit Week

It was School Spirit Week at the boys’ school.  Check out their mohawks for crazy hair day!  Something about this reminds me of the Little Rascals.IMG_1148

The Allergist

We visited the allergist for Patrick and Luke.  What a stressful trip!  We had to go to Children’s hospital clinics for the appointment, which is always a minimum of 2 hours, even if you don’t wait in the waiting room.

Both boys were tested for the dairy allergy, and, DUH, they tested positive.  “REALLY positive” the nurse said.  Again, duh.  Luke has been having itchy eyes recently in various situations.  I assumed it was dust, but it’s actually mold that’s the culprit.  He’s also allergic to dogs and mice.  There goes our family dog plan for when they get older.  This was actually a relief for mommy, since she’s fully aware that she would have been the one caring for the dog.

The worst part of the trip was that the boys had some intestinal problems while we were there.  Someone just kept ‘gassing’ (as they call it) even while the doctor was in the room… the very small, stuffy, crowded room.  I could have just died of embarrassment.  Hopefully, everyone will have forgotten us by the time we have to return next year!

What I’ve been doing instead of blogging

IMG_1145

This super ugly green linoleum just HAD to go!!!  So, Scott was home the first day after we got back from Christmas break, and I took the opportunity to get the tile laid.

It was a long and drawn out process, and it’s still not all done (quarter round and some of the stair transitions), but that’s how things go when you get interrupted 14 times an hour by the kiddos.  Next up, countertops and refinishing the hardwoods in the dining and living rooms.

Indiana Patrick

IMG_1127

My sister bought the boys the “Lego Indiana Jones” game for their Wii for Christmas.  Ever since we got home, it’s been non-stop Indy.  They make whips out of scarves and an old cowboy hat and the Leapster carrying case complete the costume.

They want to watch the movies and they’re always singing the theme song.  I made the mistake of renting the Temple of Doom at the library for them.  It was rated PG, so I thought it would be okay.  Um, no.  Remember the monkey brains part?  I didn’t.  But the boys and their impressionable little minds will now.  Sad.
