Batman and Larry Boy

Happy Lent to you all. All of the kids got ashes this year, and they looked so cute I just had to get a picture. Joe wasn’t so happy about having to fast, obviously. (Just kidding, we don’t make our kids fast.)

Lately, Joe and Scott have been playing superheroes. Joe wanted to be Larry Boy (from Veggie Tales) and Daddy was assigned Batman. Luke is Superman and Patrick is Spiderman while Mommy is Wonder Woman. I’ve noticed that when Joe needs some special attention from Daddy, he starts calling him Batman. We were having (trying to have) dinner last night and Joe just couldn’t leave Scott alone. “Let’s go downstairs, Batman.” “Batman, let’s read a story!” I remember my parents saying that we used to bug them to death when they first got home from work and were trying to make dinner. They finally gave up and started eating later so that they could play with us. What is hunger to a little family peace? Also, Scott is trying to convince Joe that Larry Boy likes to wear big boy underwear. Joe isn’t buying it.
