Overheard, the Luke version

Andrew came downstairs bawling that Luke had hit him with a flying object.  Luke protested vehemently:  “No!  I didn’t hit him.  I missed him.”

We have math flash card races for the older three boys.  In order to win, Joe has to get twice as many as the twin with the most gets so it is a bit more fair.  Basically, Patrick always wins.  Luke hates the races because, like his mother, he’s very slow at math.  Accurate, but slow.  Anyway, I usually award a gumball or some other small treat to the winner.  Luke protested this practice:  “How about the winner just gets the joy of winning as the prize.”

it's the name "Luke". "Lukes" are very wise beyond their years. Katie has a "boy-friend" and she went over to his house a couple of weeks ago. Him and his mom picked her up at our house, and as she left, Luke asked "how long have you and Dad known about this boy? and why didn't you tell me about him, I could have given her some advice!"...silly Lukes
